Michelle Rhee, the same person who once said that collaboration is overrated, is now ‘inviting' teachers to have an 'honest conversation' about education. Meanwhile, we’re still waiting on an honest conversation about the DC cheating scandal that happened on her watch. (We’re also wondering how it’s possible to have an ‘honest’ conversation with someone who routinely says one thing and does another.) At any rate, educators don’t need an invitation to talk about education. They walk that walk and talk that talk every single day. Perhaps it’s time for Michelle Rhee to cancel some of her $50,000 speaking engagements and schedule a few more listening engagements?
